IMPORTANT NOTE: We are discontinuing this kit due to lack of demand and replacing it with one a few other options... a "weld-on" leaf spring bracket version for the guys that want to run the older axles with 36.5 inch pad spacing, a long travel low boy coil over kit using the 31.5 inch axle from 78/79 Ford (or our custom built axle) or the 32 inch from GM or the 32.5 inch Kingpin axles from Dodge, 3 different coil spring versions that will use the 05-12 Superduty axle, and 3 different Coil-Over versions that will use the 05-12 Superduty axle. We are leaving this description up for our customers that have ordered this kit so that they may use it as a reference.
This kit is used with the 1985 and newer Ford Dana 60 High Pinion front axles assemblies that have a 36.5 inch spring pad spacing. This kit can not be made to sit as low as our low-boy kit that utilizes axles with the 1978/1979 Ford Dana 60 specification of 31.5 inches center to center for the spring pads.
This kit is a SAS or a SAC, a Solid Axle Swap or Solid Axle Conversion, and is designed as one of many required components used to replace your IFS (Independent Front Suspension) with a far more durable solid axle setup. Our solid axle swap kit leaf hanger and shackle kit is simply the most well thought out, strongest, and cleanest installing kits on the market. Our SAS Leaf Spring Hanger and Shackle Kit is designed for Chevy Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD trucks. Specifically the Duramax and any other 8 lug 2500 / 3500 series GM truck.
This kit is used when replacing the weak and problematic GM IFS with an ultra strong Solid axle like a Dana 60 or Dana 44. It will allow you to mount leaf springs to your 00-07 GM truck’s existing frame and hang a solid axle on the leafs. The leaf springs will offer more axle articulation and travel than the stock IFS as well as a better ride! With a solid front axle there are a wide variety of choices for gear ratios and traction aiding devices. The big payoff is that with fewer moving suspension components (and significantly stronger parts), you will gain durability, reliability, and longevity as well as tremendously reduced maintenance costs. Now you can actually service your wheel bearings for a few dollars and an hour or less instead of throwing on a new $800+ dollar set of unit bearings and wasting half a day.
The brackets are built to accommodate the standard 36.5 inch center to center leaf spring distance commonly found on the 1985 and newer Ford 4x4 truck axles. If you can't find one, we can build you one or supply you with one form Dynatrac, Currie, Solid, or most of the other popular brands.
Installation is pretty straightforward, our SAS kits are designed and engineered to bolt on to your vehicle’s frame using some factory holes for perfect alignment of the brackets but some drilling for additional bolts and cutting of the factory brackets is required to get all that junk out of the way!
The final ride height of your truck depends on the springs you use but the lowest this kit can usually be made to sit is about 5 to 6 inches higher than stock. If you want the ride height to sit closer to 2 to 3 inches over stock then please have a look at our "low boy" long travel kit which requires the use of the 31.5 inch spring pad center axle housing. Quite a few different springs can be made to get you to the height you desire and we can help you choose the parts or tell you what you need if you want to source them yourself.
The brackets are shipped as raw steel, without paint, so you can paint them any color you want. We spare no expense to ensure these kits are the best available. We only use Grade 8 hardware in our kits. We use only the best Urethan bushings from US Manufactures like Daystar and Energy Suspension

- We offer several different shock mount kits depending on your needs
- A slip yoke eliminator kit OR our NV 273 conversion kit and modified front driveshaft will be required
