Summer+ Plus Diesel Fuel Improver 6 Pack of 8 Ounce Bottles
The Opti-Lube Summer+ 6 Pack of 8 Ounce Bottles comes with a handy cardboard storage caddy to help make the use of fuel additive more conveninet. Keep these six 8 ounce bottles on hand in your truck and then a "refill" bulk container like a 1 gallon jug or 5 gallon pail at home to refill these 8 ounce bottles as needed. Each 8 oz bottle will treat up to 160 gallons of fuel so this 6 pack will treat up to 960 gallons of fuel before you have to refill.
Opti-Lube Summer Plus improves fuel economy and reducing component wear directly linked to the use of Ultra Low Sulfur Diesel by greatly improving lubricity. This product has all the lubricity enhancing properties of its older brother the XPD formulation buut some of the additional properties like anti-gel have been removed which is why this is designated the Summer formula.
In terms of lubricity, this is essentially a more concentrated version of the XPD formula which means the treatment rates are lower and a gallon will treat more fuel... FIVE TIMES MORE FUEL!!! So even though the Summer+ formulation costs slightly more per gallon than the XPD formula, it costs less per tank of fuel due to the much lower mix rate. Keep in mind however that the Summer Plus formula does not have all of the benefits of the XPD formula but if lubricity is your main objective then it is tough to beat the Summer + blend.
We have found that in our own light duty trucks, we see nearly as much improvement in fuel economy as with XPD which is a combined city/highway increase of 4% - 8% in fuel economy when using Opti-Lube Summer+ over ultra low sulfur diesel alone! With that improvement, Opti-Lube Summer+ additive pays for itself JUST IN TERMS OF FUEL SAVINGS at today’s diesel prices… not to mention the wear and tear on the injectors and related components! For example, a typical fill up in one of our shop Duramax 2500HD's uses about 2 oz of Opti-Lube Summer+ for 24 gallons of fuel which is roughly $1.50 worth of product; in this application the net savings from using the additive is about 2 gallons of fuel per tank which at today’s prices is about $6.00!!! Couple that with the increase in lubricity and corresponding drop in the wear factor and it is a “no-brainer”. Every customer that has purchased Opti-Lube Summer+ from us here at Speed House has experienced similar gains in light duty diesel applications; results drop off somewhat in medium duty trucks to an average of 2%-4% increase in fuel economy and Heavy Duty trucks are seeing about 1%-2% increase in fuel economy. In almost all cases Opti-Lube Summer Plus has paid for itself JUST IN TERMS OF FUEL SAVINGS!
Opti-Lube Summer+ is mixed at between 1 oz per 20 gallons of fuel up to 2 oz per 20 gallons of fuel. In other words, 1 gallon of Opti-Lube Summer Plus treats between 1500 and 3000 gallons of diesel depending on your mix rate! As you can see, a little bit goes a long way.
