Transfer Case Oil Pump Rub Fix Aluminum Rear Transfer Case Half Upgrade for Push Button Electric Shift NV263XHD in Duramax Trucks
An upgraded aluminum rear case half to correct the oil pump rub problem on the the Push Button Electric Shift NV263XHD. If you have a 2001 to 2007 Classic Chevrolet or GMC 4x4 truck with the Duramax and Allison transmission combined with the electric shift NV263XHD transfer case, your transfer case WILL end up wearing a hole in the case and slowly leaking out oil until it literally grenades when you least expect it. Often the oil leaks are so tiny you will never even see a drop on your driveway but the oil mist escaping the small hole will still run it dry!
The 2001-2007 Duramax transfer cases have a pretty serious flaw with the "oil pump rub issue" and make the otherwise robust and long lasting drivetrain a joke. We have re-designed the rear transfer case half with superior materials, design, and workmanship and have released a replacement transfer case rear half that not only fixes the inherent weaknesses built into the original Chevrolet and GMC transfer cases that came in your Duramax but totally eliminate them!
If you have one of these trucks your transfer case WILL end up wearing a hole in the case and slowly leaking out oil until it destroys itself... usually when it is not convenient for you to be stuck! Remember, many times the oil leaks are so small that only vapor is blown out and you will never even see a drop on your driveway but the oil mist escaping the small hole will still run it dry!
So how can we be sure that is not a matter of IF but WHEN this will happen to YOU? Well, while driving (EVEN in 2 Wheel Drive Mode) the oil pump pushes against the rear case and slowly wears on the soft and inexpensive magnesium case material. That wear slowly causes pin-holes to develop in the soft and thin magnesium shell. Over time the oil is spent as a fine vapor out of these holes. This happens very gradually; so much so that you probably will not realize it until it is too late and you hear your transfer case getting noisy. At that point there will have been damage done to the internal components of your transfer case and it will require a full rebuild. This is what is referred to as the "oil pump rub" problem.
This is why we designed and engineered our custom replacement rear case half, it not only fixes the issue but completely eliminates the issue. They are made of heavy grade aluminum, NOT the thin, cheap magnesium that GM used. Our replacement upgrade case halves also correct another GM design flaw, a snap ring groove problem that normally requires an adapter plate; with our case half you do NOT need any adapter plate. Our case half is renowned as the best in the industry... so much so that we even sell it to transfer case repair shops and even GM Dealerships!!!

Transfer Case Models Covered with this part number for the 01-07 GM Duramax are the Manual Shift (floor shift) NV263XHD - NOT Gas Trucks with NV263LD or NV263HD!!
